Our Music Program
The music program at Easthampton Congregational Church provides an added dimension to the service. It is led by music director Ellen Cogen, who has been playing in churches for about 25 years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Voice Performance from the New England Conservatory of music, and has been performing as a singer, pianist, and cellist since her teen years. She currently is a professor of music at Holyoke Community College, where she directs the choral and musical theater ensembles and teaches jazz voice.
The music program at ECC is active and diverse. The choir, which rehearses Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings September through May, sings a varied repertoire of selections, ranging from contemporary to gospel, to classical, to jazz. New members are welcome at any time: the only requirement is a desire to sing, to work hard at times, and to have fun!
